 About Us

We are a small company started in 2008 called K Sports Cars.  We are based in Milton Keynes not far from Newport Pagnell.  We are company with a passion for cars and this business is an extension of our hobby!

The AMX Astonish kit was originally manufactured in Australia and shipped to the UK.  K Sports Cars is the UK agent and has invested in tooling for manufacture of the kit here in the UK utilising local companies.  This has resulted in a reduction in price along with build and delivery times.  K Sports Cars deal with all enquiries from the UK including Ireland and can, if necessary supply kits to Europe.  We offer a secure ordering and delivery package.  We can deliver kits to your door for only £0.90p/mile one way (note minimum £50 cost).

K Sports Cars is able to provide a full build service.  We will be moving to commercial premises in the future and hope to be able to offer other services such as maintenance and parts.  We already have a donor vehicle under construction as our demonstrator and a further MX5 available for test drives for those unfamiliar with the performance and handling characteristic s of this great sports car.  The demonstrator will be available later in the year for magazine editorials, exhibitions and test drives.  Features on the car have already been published in both Kit Car International Magazine and Complete Kit Car magazine.

As with many small businesses starting out, at present we are without a commercial base and have had to start trading from home.  This makes sense in the current economic climate to keep costs to a minimum and pass on savings to you the customer.  Currently we are not VAT registered which means that the final purchase price will be cheaper to you the customer.

We believe we provide a great package for the DIY home enthusiast and professional kit builder.  It offers a stunning alternative to the usual Ferrari re-body kits without the need for major modifications or cutting.  This is a beautiful handmade kit which has taken many of its design cues from Aston Martin but it is not a copy.  Had the intention been to copy the Aston Martin the designer would have based the car on a more accurate sized donor such as the Jaguar XK8.  The interior of the car can be built to individual tastes or styles.

If you have never driven or ridden in a Mazda MX5 then you are missing a real experience.  It has a great presence on the road with fantastic handling from its low weight, rear wheel drive and flexible engines.  This kit builds upon those qualities by wrapping it up in a modern and beautiful body.  There are aftermarket parts available from a range of specialist suppliers to make your car truly unique or to further improve the handling and performance.  K Sports Cars is hoping to offer a range of parts in the future to assist in tuning, performance and handling packages.

The car is known as the AMX07 in Australia and the USA.  All design rights and patents belong to Custom Automotive Restyling in Australia.  All photo graphs are reproduced with permission of C.A.R.  The AMX07 won the Australian styling award in 2007 “Dare to be Different”. The term “AMX07” and “AMX Astonish” are registered trademarks in the UK.  The content of this site along the build manual is copyright protected to Jason Kemp in 2010 and reproduction can only be done with express written permission from Jason Kemp of K Sports Cars.  Viewers can print a copy for themselves but any further reproductions, offering for sale or copying by incorporating into other sites, text will be regarded as an infringement and will be dealt with legal action.
